Creative, energetic student with a gift for mathematics and an unquenchable quest for learning.



Education:
Jim is currently a student in eighth grade at a private Christian school in rural upstate New York, where he is learning all the kinds of things that thirteen year old boys are supposed be learning.



Honors & Awards:
  • In 1997, Jim represented NY State as one of four members of the NY State MathCounts team at the National MathCounts Competition in Washington DC.     The New York team placed eleventh and Jim ranked number 56 of the 228 students who reached the national competion level.
  • After placing highly in the Johns Hopkins University Search for Talented Youth, and earning a score of 1440 on the SAT at age 12, Jim was presented with several awards of recognition at Union College (Schenectady, NY) and a modest scholarship to RPI (Troy, NY).


Hobbies and Interests:
  • Jim became a licenced amateur radio operator in 1995 at age 9, and created an early version of the virtualVE program in Visual Basic at 10.
  • Jim enjoys model rocketry, science fiction, physics, chemistry, electronics, math, Ham Radio and programming computers.
